Paraglider landing in Sea Point, Cape Town from Signal Hill launch
Cape Town Tandem Paragliding
For those sky junkies, paragliding is really big in Cape Town and you can definitely get airborne on a paraglider here in Cape Town.
For qualified pilots, you can fly yourself, and even rent a glider if necessary. Others can take to the air with a tandem paraglider flight off Table Mountain.
Here’s a link that will give you a taster of paragliding in Cape Town and put you in touch with a good Cape Town paragliding school / paragliding outfit for all your Cape paragliding needs.

Cape Point - Great for Crayfish Diving
Cape Town Crayfish Diving
If you love the sea and are in Cape Town in summer, then why not consider catching your own dinner!
Cape Town crayfish diving in usually done amongst the kelp (seaweed) which is a unique experience in itself.
You can hire all the equipment for a very reasonable price, and there are people in Cape Town to show you the ropes. If you are keen to try it out and learn with experienced divers, call 082 820 0521 for Cape Town crayfish diving outings or accompanied dives at Cape Point.

City Rock - Indoor Climbing Practice
Cape Town Rock Climbing
A head for heights?! Try out rock climbing in Cape Town.
Learn to climb at City Rock in Observatory. Or go climbing with Venture Forth.
City Rock has everything you need to get started with rock climbing in Cape Town. It’s great as a fun experience for novices.
For the more serious, City Rock offers a range of climbing difficulty grades, so why not go there to practise and improve your skill level.

Cape Town Scuba
Cape Town Scuba Diving
I learnt to dive in the Red Sea, so I was quite suspicious of scuba diving in the Cape Town cold water non-tropical environment. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Cape Town has a lot to offer a scuba diver. It is quite different to tropical diving, but no less compelling.
Have a look at these scuba photos of Cape Town , taken by our local vet who is quite an underwater photographer.
Geoff Spiby’s Cold Water Photos. These underwater photos were mostly taken off the Cape Town coast on scuba diving outings.
You can rent all your scuba kit from Orca in Claremont, and arrange to go scuba diving in Cape Town with Obzside club.

Sailing in Cape Town
Sailing / Boating in Cape Town
The sea surrounds the peninsula on three sides and so sailing is really popular in Cape Town. You can go on a leisure cruise, a high speed power boating experience or even learn to sail in Cape Town.
An extremely popular Cape Town leisure cruise on the Spirit of Victoria leaves from the V&A Waterfront.
There is a frankly terrifying high speed power boat with Bugaloo Adventures at Hout Bay in Cape Town and Langebaan, up the West Coast.
As an aside, Bugaloo, along with a lot of other people/organizations/estate agents describe Langebaan as “Just an hour’s drive from Cape Town.” It isn’t. It’s 1hr50 minutes from Cape Town Centre in normal traffic, adhering to the speed limit. Fact.
Or you can do a trip to Seal Island from Hout Bay with Drumbeat Charters.
For the more serious, you can learn to sail, either in Cape Town or based in Langebaan with Sail Due South.

Hike Table Mountain
Easy Hiking on Table Mountain, Cape Town
There are so many hikes on Table Mountain that entire books have been written about the subject. This site will be expanding this section in due course, but for starters here is an easy hike on Table Mountain.
It is more of a stroll but is a wonderful introduction to walking on Table Mountain. Click for Kloof Corner
