Tokai/Kirstenhof and Retreat are shown on this map. Tokai is on the west, Retreat on the east. The
futher west ie closer to the mountain is the smarter more affluent area characterised by large homes in leafy suburbs.
As one move east the area becomes more middle class families, and then below Main Rd, it becomes poorer working class.
Living in Tokai
Access to town is straightforward, however traffic builds up badly on the M3 between 7 am and 8.30 am
and in the afternoon/evening as well. There are some great schools and accessible shopping in the area.
It is also a fairly central base for tourism activities being time-wise half way between the city and Simonstown.
