Camps Bay is a residential suburb on the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town. It is a trendy, upmarket area,
and is home to many who enjoy the all the good things the Cape lifestyle has to offer: beaches, watersports
(surf skiing), nightlife (Google "Caprice" or "Ignite"), paragliding, and restaurants, in a stunning location hard
to beat. My photos of Camps Bay give a good idea of the general feel of the suburb. The whole area is upmarket and consistently affluent, with no pockets of poorer areas.
Choosing Accommodation in Camps Bay
I'd love to stay in Camps Bay, whether on holiday or to live.
Imagine a suburb with the best beaches (Camps Bay, Clifton 4th Beach) in the world, at the foot of the world's most famous mountain, Table Mountain, with paragliders launching from Lion's Head and floating overhead.
Camps Bay is a residential suburb positioned on the Atlantic Seaboard at the foot of Lion's Head, and adjacent to Clifton. It comprises large homes and apartments the value of which can only escalate. The proximity to Cape Town city centre, the beautiful location, the size of the properties, and the distance from any poorer areas, makes this an extremely desirable location for wealthy families, executives and anyone else with pots of money.
Attractions include the Camps Bay "strip" with a row of stunning restaurants along the beach front. Restaurants such as Tuscany Beach, Caprice, Col Cacchio, Summerville, and Blues, all well known names to the locals, can be found here with world class sea views. Step out the restaurant and step onto the beach.
Nightlife includes La Med, Caprice and Ignite, again hugely popular destinations for the trendy Cape Town set.
If you're keen on celebrity spotting, it just may be here that you will have some success. Many movies get filmed in Cape Town and the film crew seem to gravitate to these spots in Camps Bay to spend their leisure time.
