World of Birds | Hout Bay

Situated in Hout Bay, The World of Birds is one of the biggest bird parks and sanctuaries in the world. It is home to an amazingly diverse variety of birds all in their natural habitat.
The World of Birds also keeps a variety of small mammals and reptiles.
It makes a great outing for a family, as kids and parents alike will be captivated. The owners take an interest in the community and are always available to assist with injured birds and other small animals in the area.
I live more or less adjacent to the World of Birds and can hear the birds calling from my house. Peacocks make great alarm clocks in the morning.

For family visitors, if you are planning to spend a day in Hout Bay, then you can easily visit the Hout Bay Beach, the fishing village, consider a boat trip to Seal Island and take a drive up Chapman’s peak along with your visit to the World of Birds.
For people with their own rental or hire car, you can get to the World of Birds either by coming along the spectacularly scenic Camps Bay / Llandudno / Hout Bay Road if coming from the Atlantic Seaboard, or you can come over Constantia Nek from the southern suburbs.
The City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Bus also stops at the World of Birds, so those without a rental car can also visit the World of Birds very easily.
