THREE SAFE PLACES TO WALK ALONE DURING DAY TIME

On the topic of crime and safety in Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, I thought I’d like to share places where I feel completely safe when walking alone. Unfortunately crime is prevalent, and safety is a consideration one can’t ignore. So for a tourist who is still trying to discover Cape Town, here are my opinions (as a local) of some safe places where I comfortably walk around:

  • Sea Point /  Mouille Point Promenade
  • Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
  • Clifton Beaches

THREE SAFE PLACES TO WALK ALONE DURING NIGHT TIME

  • V&A Waterfront
  • Top end of Long Street (Keep alert for street kids who hassle you, but there’s no serious issue as long as it’s busy and crowded like it usually is).
  • Somerset Road (near the nightclubs)
